I design the software side of hardware.

My sweet spot: early-stage healthcare and med-tech companies — usually a founder or a small team with an idea that needs a working prototype to get buy-in.

I've been at this a while now, and have designed the early-stage platforms for some awesome companies — Detect, Pano, Identifeye, and Eko Health.

I'm also a partner at Misfit Labs, a Miami-based AI-native venture studio (whew, mouthful), with some close friends.

Away from the desk, you'll usually find me walking the dog pack, exploring somewhere new, listening to my wife's record collection, or seeing how creative I can get with a kettlebell.

Detect at-home diagnostic hub product and packaging

DETECT

Detect built a user-friendly testing platform for STDs and Covid-19, delivering PCR-quality results in minutes for both at-home and point-of-care use. As product designer, I adapted Detect's at-home solution for the point-of-care market, creating a versatile tablet and web-based system that fit a range of testing workflows.

My work wrapped up in August 2023, just before launch. The final product shipped with more features than competitors like Abbott ID NOW and Cepheid Xpert Xpress, at a price accessible to nearly any testing facility.

IDENTIFEYE

Identifeye Health's mission is to bring portable, cloud-connected retinal scanning outside the specialist's office, helping detect early-stage diseases that might otherwise go unnoticed.

I helped design the first version of the mobile exam-taking app and web portal for clinical review. The project culminated in an MVP, refined through a Human Factors focus group, followed by a successful pilot program. That pilot helped secure an $80 million Series B, funding a full-time team for the project's next phase.

LIFEWALLET

LifeWallet enhanced EHR implementations with modular solutions. The scheduling module stood out for its flexible design, its ability to integrate with existing EHRs, and its real-time analytics that improved practice efficiency.

I was the design lead at the company, which was acquired in 2021 by MSP Recovery.

PANO

Pano AI's mission is to revolutionize wildfire management through an intelligent platform that rapidly detects and responds to wildfires, protecting lives and property.

I designed the initial version of Pano's responsive web portal, surfacing AI-driven wildfire detection and tools for management teams to act quickly. A successful pilot with a major California utility helped Pano raise a $20 million Series A, funding new features and international expansion into Australia.
